Equality Arizona Website and E-News Posting Guidelines Minimize

Equality Arizona supports the many activities within the Arizona LGBT community and are happy to share that information with our e-mail list members and website visitors. To have your organization’s event listed in the “Meetings & Events” section of the AHRF website, please use the following guidelines.

1. Submit to submissions@equalityarizona.org complete information about your event, specifically time/date, location, cost and name and email/phone of a contact person to submissions@equalityarizona.org

2. Include a two to three sentence description of your event, with the understanding that it may be edited for content or length. Additional materials (flyers, invitations, etc) may be sent in addition to, but not instead of, the brief description.

3. Submit your listing at least 3 weeks before the event. Equality Arizona generally posts items approximately 6 weeks before an event.

4. For your LBGT organization’s fundraising events, please limit your submissions to the one or two major events for the year.  Equality Arizona is not able to promote or post every LGBT activity because we want to inform, not overwhelm, our supporters. We make every effort to keep our Weekly E-News to a limited number of stories (no more than 6), and will only send out single-item e-mails in support of AHRF activities like Legislative Action Alerts, large volunteer opportunities or election activities.

We appreciate that our supporters – like most people today – are busy people who are inundated with e-mail and if AHRF e-mails are too frequent or lengthy, then they “too” may be overlooked.  Please remember that all items on the “Meetings and Events” page will not be promoted in the Weekly E-News.

Some items that aren’t included in the Equality Arizona website and/or E-News:

1. Events that are a group's regular meeting or is exclusive, invitation-only event.

2. Items less than a week before the event date.

3. Items that directly conflict with an Equality Arizona-sponsored or fundraising event.

4. Business promotion items unless the promoter has a signed agreement with Equality Arizona.

Before Equality Arizona sends out any communication regarding statewide, legislative or local candidates, the candidate must have been reviewed by either the Equality Arizona Southern Arizona Caucus or the Equality Arizona Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, and finally the Executive Committee. Only until a satisfactory review is complete can postings be made at the discretion of the Executive Director and/or the Public Affairs Director.

Comments or suggestions on these guidelines are welcome! Please send to submissions@equalityarizona.org.
